A joyful Mystic tradition for couples who want to marry, renew their vows, or celebrate their commitment on February 14.
Love, Romance & a Little Mystic Magic
For many years, I have been delighted to perform free Valentine’s Day ceremonies in the Meeting House at Olde Mistick Village. Couples have joined me for weddings, vow renewals, and commitment ceremonies in the rustic charm of this small New England chapel.
Exact times, participation details, photography, and other arrangements may change each year. Contact me before making plans so I can confirm the current Valentine’s Day schedule.
A Connecticut Marriage License Is Required
For a legal Valentine’s Day wedding at Olde Mistick Village, obtain your license through the Town of Stonington, because that is where the ceremony takes place.
- Beginning October 1, 2026, the registrar cannot issue the license until at least 48 hours after you apply.
- If you apply Monday at 10:30 a.m., the earliest legal issuance time is Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.—and office procedures may make pickup later.
- Town clerk offices generally operate Monday through Friday, not weekends, and may require appointments.
- Do not wait until February 13 to begin the process.
Before You Come
- Contact me to confirm that year’s ceremony schedule and participation details.
- Couples getting legally married must bring the valid original Stonington marriage license.
- Vow renewals and commitment ceremonies do not require a marriage license.
- Bring your love, your sense of fun, and anyone you would like to celebrate with you.
